Privacy & FERPA
Built with student privacy in mind.
AmplifyED Coaching supports schools' obligations under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA, 20 U.S.C. § 1232g). Your school remains the data controller; AmplifyED operates as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest under 34 CFR § 99.31(a)(1)(i)(B).
Role-based access
Students cannot read records. Facilitators see only their assigned cases. Admins manage configuration and audits.
Encryption
TLS 1.2+ in transit. AES-256 at rest via our database provider.
Audit trail
Views, edits, exports, and AI generations are logged with actor, timestamp, and IP.
Idle sign-out
Staff sessions auto-expire after 30 minutes of inactivity.
AI guardrails
Identifying fields are redacted before any text reaches the AI gateway.
Minimum-necessary intake
Admins choose exactly which fields are asked. Nothing extra collected by default.
